Richard Shoaf has more than 35 years experience in industry and government. He has served as a firefighter, hazardous materials technician, incident commander, and instructor. Richard is the founder of Safety Training & Consultations International, a consulting firm specializing in emergency planning and response. His experience and expertise includes hazardous materials, weapons of mass destruction, and operations security (OPSEC). He serves as a principal on the Hazardous Materials Protective Clothing and Equipment committee that works with the NFPA 1990 Standard for Protective Ensembles for Hazardous Materials and CBRNE Operations (a combination of NFPA 1991, 1992 and 1994). He is an instructor for the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency, providing hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction training internationally. Mr. Shoaf is a former Safety Officer for Missouri Task Force 1, FEMA Urban Search and Rescue team. Mr. Shoaf has served as a consultant and instructor to various government agencies as well as worked in over 111 countries and across the United States.
